François Grenier

Ceramic Artist

549 Lacroix St., Chatham

François Grenier is a ceramic artist living and working in Chatham, ON. His current works focuses on large low-fire, hand-built vessels with complex textured surfaces. He uses clay as a canvas to create forms which play with tension in their lines and balance while pushing the textures enveloping them to their maximum visual possibility. In the past two years, he has been exploring acrylic and watercolour geometric abstractionism and transfers those studies onto his vessels. His vessels and sculptures have dry, matte surfaces that put depth and tactile experiences to the forefront.

Mike Ondrovcik

Assemblage Artist

549 Lacroix St., Chatham

My art is a reflection of my life experiences , an ongoing exploration of the world through my eyes. Working across a diverse range of media, I aim to create three dimensional works that evoke a spectrum of emotions, questions, and reflections. Each piece is a response to personal moments, memories, and the complexities of human existence , offering viewers an opportunity to engage with the past, present, and future of both themselves and the world around them. By using varied materials and forms I seek to break the boundaries, challenging the conventional and inviting new ways of seeing. My intention is not to provide fixed answers but to spark thought and dialogue - allowing each artwork to as open-ended and multifaceted as the as the experiences that inform it. The diversity of of my practise is a testament to the complexity of life, where every texture, shape, and structure is a layer of meaning waiting to be uncovered.

Ruth Reeb

Painter

43 Stonegate Walk, Chatham

Ruth attended the Ontario College of Art and Design in the early70’s. Her first solo Exhibit was in Stratford, Ontario at a small private gallery while still attending art school. Continuing to take various workshops, lessons, and the involvement with arts organizations, have all contributed to honing  her technique, sharpening skills and perfecting a personal style. Participating in juried shows in Toronto, Niagara, London and Windsor has resulted in sales In Canada, Japan, Australia and Germany.

Form and Colour, a whimsical style, with a dose of spontaneity are consistent themes throughout my work.   The love of nature in all it’s unpredictability, yet so refreshing continues to be the inspiration that my work is built around, creating pieces that will hopefully invite the onlooker to see things differently.  At present, I am using dyes, acrylic/ mixed media in a somewhat abstract application to portray the subject and movement within. Still learning, forever changing, growth is inevitable.
